Ok, Easter is almost upon us. Maybe you have the children off school or have taken some time off work and would like to unleash some creativity. You might want to generate some new ideas for your business and maybe you are feeling stuck? How do you go about becoming more creative this Easter?
Choose to be creative! Observe your surroundings as if you are seeing them for the first time. A bit like stepping into a house you are thinking of buying or renting. What do you observe or think? Open your mind to the idea that you want to be creative.
Reframe challenges. Instead of telling yourself you can’t do something ask a friend what their take on it is. Or try and look at it from a new perspective. How would a family member or friend observe it? Looking at it from a new perspective can enable us to develop a new solution we have not previously thought about. We are constantly reframing things in our mind and we can do this in a positive way.
Allow yourself to daydream. This used to be reserved for the school classroom and looking out of the window and visualising all our aspirations. Neuroscience will back this up that it is not a waste of time and when we are relaxed flashes of insight will come to us.
Focus on what you want and instead of what you don’t want! When we are clear about our end goal we can come up with more innovative ideas.
Get a good night’s sleep. When we have a good night’s sleep we can function so much better. It keeps us in the intellectual mind where we can be more creative and have a more positive outlook on life.
Keep moving! Even a gentle exercise outside can make a world of difference.
Spend time with people who inspire you and make you feel good.
Allow yourself some downtime from social media. This can really help the moments of inspiration appear.
Most of all take time for yourself.
