Belfast-Telegraph-hypnotherapy

Over the last four years I have gone through a number of changes in both my personal and business life. I moved back to Northern Ireland three years ago from London and I was delighted to have been interviewed by the Belfast Telegraph about the techniques I use in my work as the first established and practising Solution focused hypnotherapist in Northern Ireland.

During the interview we discussed how I had previously worked for the BBC in London on a range of shows from Strictly Come Dancing, Sport Relief, Children in Need and BBC Events. This involved juggling working on different productions at the same time. I really enjoyed working in this dynamic fast environment providing support and training to productions.

In my last few years at the BBC I got involved with helping people working on difficult stories as a trauma risk assessor and become the lead for the BBC in Trauma for Television. Here I found my passion and interest in helping people going through stressful times and gave talks to productions prior to filming and one to one support during filming blocks.

Whilst on maternity leave when I was in London I took some extra unpaid leave and undertook a ten month training programme to become a Clinical Hypnotherapist. I knew I had to follow my passion of helping people. At this time I was also going through a divorce and house sale and took the decision to move home back to Ireland with my young daughter and set up my business here. The techniques I learned in hypnotherapy help me keep a positive mindset throughout the journey. It really helps you understand what is going on in your brain and how to keep yourself calm and in control.

I wanted to share this with you to show that change is always possible in our lives. We don’t have to hold ourselves back from going for that dream job, relationship or finding happiness. I see clients of all ages ranging from school children, teenagers and my most mature client to date is 82!

Our brains are constantly changing, and when our brain is in a relaxed state using hypnosis we can enable new connections to be formed in the brain. .

So right now you might be thinking about how this could apply to you?

As we approach the end of 2018 you might be interested in having a career change but are terrified of interviews, or are feeling stressed about life or work, or simply want to feel calmer and more in control of your life.
